Rioja Sommelier Award har blivit plantskola för Sveriges toppsommelierer. Tidigare deltagare i tävlingen, som är Sveriges enda för sommelierstuderande, återfinns nu på landets finaste krogar och syns flitigt både i tv och som vinexperter i tidningar.

För tredje året i rad arrangerade nu Hero Kommunikation tävlingen. Platsen var restaurang Och Himlen Därtill, högst upp i gamla skatteskrapan på söder i Stockholm. Konferencier var Andreas Larsson, regerande världsmästare i sommellerie. Efter en stenhård kamp framför en rekordpublik knep slutligen den skånska sommelierutbildningen Gustibus förstaplatsen. De kan nu se fram emot en inspirationsresa till Rioja i höst och även möjligheten att tävla i SM i spansk vinkunskap.

The Rioja Sommelier Award has become a nursery for Sweden’s top sommeliers. Previous participants in the competition, which is Sweden’s only competition for sommelier students, are now once again at the country’s finest restaurants and are seen frequently on TV and as wine experts in newspapers and magazines.

For the third consecutive year, Hero Kommunikation has arranged the competition. The place was the restaurant, Och Himlen Därtill, at the top of the skyscraper that previously housed the tax authority on Södermalm in Stockholm. The master of ceremonies was Andreas Larsson, reigning world master sommelier. After a very tough competition in front of a record-breaking audience, the sommelier training, Gustibus, from Skåne in southern Sweden, clinched first place. They can now look forward to an inspiring trip to Rioja in the autumn and also the opportunity to compete in the Swedish championship in Spanish wine knowledge.
